Drew Brees

40 yard completion on third and two just before two minute warning to put pressure on Houston. 18th year starting the season opener for the old man. Still got it.

55 seconds left, 4th down and NO kicks 47 yard field goal. Gutsy call imo. If it had been blocked or no good, Houston would have gotten ball in good field position only having to score field goal to tie.

Texans get TD pass. two play drive to score. Wow. Extra point no good. But roughing the kicker. I should retitle this thread. Retry good. Texans lead by one.

Brees brings them back. 57 yard field goal for win as time expires. I'm keeping the thread title after all.

It was a great win for Brees and Saints .
I love how they keep saying he is over the hill and he keeps proving them wrong
Plus he is a genuinely good guy.

HiC
Saints fans have been through a ton of crap.
The Who dat symbolizes the Drew Brees~Payton era .
They deserve some slack
Many cities /team has a not grammatically correct catch phrase.

How bout dem Cowboys
Da Bears
Etc

If Brees were on the Pats this whole time he'd have 6 rings.

PAT no good
Refs give Texans a gift

Yes but it came at the end of the first half, where none of the officials even knew what the runoff rule was. Roughing the kicker was a reasonable call. Even running into would have given a rekick.

I was born there and have relatives there and around the state. They haven't been through anything. I agree with 99.99% of what you say, but not on this one.

I don't say how bout dem Cowboys and Da Bears makes fun of the Chicago accent.

Plus, I was mostly joking.

Ok HiC
I am happy for them. I remember the Aints . Have many friends who are Saint fans.
They are all saying it tonight..
Fair enough. I remember the Aints as well as the bags over the heads of the fan during games.

HIC,

I enjoy NOLA, particularly on a day like today, when I would have been the only person on Poydras not wearing a Drew Brees jersey, which I think it is mandatory at all of the ten largest law firms in NOLA.

After all, NOLA has survived:

1) The loss of "The Little Man"

2) Loss of Edwin as Governor

3) Loss of Le Ruth's

4) Katrina

5) Having Ray Nagin as mayor

Not many cities have that many catastrophes
