He's not in the top 100 discussion, so I would say odds are decent that he comes back.
The good news is that we only have 1 draft eligible sophomore who has actually played any this year (Kendal Carillo), so we're returning a ton of good pitching, as well as some important defensive players.
Brandon was drafted in the 11th round in 2006 and 2007 by the Red Sox and Braves, respectively. I do not know how he and his family feel about the advantage of 1 more year at the collegiate level. He has nothing to prove to anyone, he is an outstanding prospect who may benefit from the specialized instruction in the professional organizations, if their offer is fair for him and his family.

Thanks for the input guys…then my next question is if Belt does leave who plays first next year?
I know that Colton Cain is listed as a LHP/1B, but his draft stock has risen and he by no means is guaranteed to get to campus.
What about options with positions changes…I wonder is Shepard could play first, he certainly has had his troubles in Left at times this year, or maybe Kevin Lusson, big tall kid who might could make the transition from third to first…
Ya know if you are going to ask about next year when this season is still going on, then I am going to ask if anyone knows where we are going next year on the west coast.
Dates would be a bonus so I can put in for time off early and start badgering the woman to do the same.
He can and should go. I hope he feels really good about leaving because Texas just won the '09 National Championship but in any case it is time for him to have his dreams crushed in the brutal gauntlet that is Minor League Baseball.
