Downtown Pittsburgh

This is my first time to Pittsburgh. I'm trying to decide whether to stay at the Renaissance or Westin Hotel. I will be working here for a few weeks. Which is a better location? The walking distance to the office is comparable.

Also, recommendations on things to do and places to eat would be great? I will have to rely on walking and public transportation which I have yet to research.

Thanks.

I'm not sure what's around the Renaissance, but the Westin is definitely walkable to some restaurants. It actually has a great seafood place adjacent to the lobby (Fish Market, I think).

Downtown Pittsburgh has a lot to offer, but you'll probably end up taking some cabs. Primanti Bros. is a famous restaurant you'll want to try, it's open 24 hours. There is a location in the "strip district", which is too far to walk but only about 5 minutes drive. That area has great bars as well.

Renaissance is usually a nice place, too.
