Downtown Houston restaurants?

gonna be downtown Fri night and I have a friend visiting with his girlfriend who is a vegetarian. anyone have any good eating suggestions?

The Hobbit Hole is not downtown (buffalo speedway and richmond) but I think it is pretty well respected as a vegetarian restaurant.

You can get veggie meals at most restaurants, except maybe steakhouses.

No disrespect to foxyhorn, but I'm a vegetarian and don't eat at the Hobbit Hole. Ibiza and Farrago are in Midtown and are good places that have vegetarian items on the menu. There is also Cava Bistro and Mia Bella on Main, which are good, casual, and have vegetarian things. You may want to check what time they close though. Ibiza and Farrago probably stay open later.

I recall that Bossa is not bad (click the link for Houston Bossa). They serve dinner until midnight on weekends; bar is open later--maybe a limited menu there?

I had a decent chimichurri steak there. I wasn't really paying attention to how people were dressed but I think I was just wearing a skirt and tshirt, so it's pretty casual iirc.

I've been to Bossa a couple of times. Can't say I'm real fired up to go back.

For late night Vietnamese, there is Mai's on Milam in Midtown. Another place worth mentioning is Dharma Cafe in the Warehouse District by Last Concert Cafe, which could also be an option.

I second Cava Bistro. Nice atmosphere and reasonable food/prices. I'm pretty sure it's only a couple of blocks from Verizon too.

The only place I know that definitely has veggie food is Ziggy's. But that's over by Montrose.

I looked at the Farrago menu, it looks good. I think we may go eat there before the concert and then after the concert grab something at cava bistro.

bu, both of those recommendations are good, although i would check on the hours of cava.

farragos is most likely open later and is in a much more late-night-activity-y area.
