Downtown Houston - Dinner before Van Halen

Quick.......need a good casual place to eat before Van Halen concert tonight.

Thinking Cabo......but anyone have any better ideas?

Not looking for high end like Vic & Anthony's or anything like that.

Must be downtown.

I'm not a fan of Cabo at all. I'd much rather go to Hunan, 812 Capitol or Mia Bella, 320 Main. Both are casual enough.

What is the appeal of Hunan? Not familiar with that. What does it compare to?

How does the Mia Bella downtown compare to the one on Lexington off Shepherd and 59?

Hunan is Chinese, but its not your typical takeout Chinese restaurant. Some of the dishes are there, like sweet and sour chicken, etc., but the best dishes are the more creative ones.

You could do the Original Ninfa's on Navigation or Spanish Village off Alemda, not quite downtown but close enough.

My buddy was coming in on IH 10 from the east, so we decided to meet at Mardi Gras on Durham, just south of the railroad tracks.

It was recommended by the barmaid at the Ginger Man.

Good call. Fried seafood poboys, etc. Pretty damn good.
