Dorm rooms for athletes?

Looking at the UT schedule, I note the last final for the fall semester was 12/17 and the first day of class for the next term is 1/20. So the students are off 31 days. Now that is one heck of a Christmas break! A lot of universities were back in class on 1/5. What's with Texas?

What do the athletes do when they have to be back for practice, etc and the dorms are closed?

i know that several of the students on our team do not live in the dorm, they live in apts. intown...B-Rave and Aubrey are roommates in No. Austin for example....I'm sure no one is homeless!!

if they live in the dorms normally, they should be allowed to stay over winter break. and if the dining halls are closed, they are probably given a daily food allowance.
