Door Knobs

Is there anywhere online where I can find reasonably priced door knobs? My Wife and I are going to be buying our first home, and the first things that needs to be replaced are the door knobs.

I know there are cheap ones at Home Depot/Lowes, but if I could find nicer ones online at a discount, I'd prefer to do that.

Is this a safety issue or do you just want new door knobs? If the current door knobs are serviceable, why not just have them re-keyed? It's a lot cheaper than new locks.

Do you mean at the front, back and maybe garage side doors or inside doors?

I would maybe go to a door store that specializes in them and get some brand names of knobs you like (that just reads weird) and then look them up online.

If it is exterior locking doors I agree with the other answer about getting them keyed. This should be done anytime you buy a new house unless the locks are new and even then, you may not trust that. You may just not like the doorknobs to begin with...or your wife does not which means that you don't either.

basically we need to replace all the door knobs in the house, bedrooms, bathrooms, the ones in there currently are extremely worn out. The front and garage doors will probably be replaced too, but the biggest thing is finding something for the doors in the house

Try handlesets.com and use the code SPRINGSHIP for free shipping on orders over $99. I used them when I bought some deadbolts recently. I found them to be very reliable and the shipping was quick. They also had the best price for what I wanted.

If you are in Austin, go to BMC West on Metric or Fergueson down south. I forget the address buy they have a large showroom. BMC has a ton of door knobs on display. Not sure about the prices though, but you may get some good ideas.

If you were in Dublin, I would recommend that you go by this place.

You could find almost
everything you could possible want under one roof. And you could see how the items felt, which is something you can't do online. But they do have a website.

don't know what your style is, but Target actually carries that kind of stuff. I looked at cabinet knobs there onetime and they were cheaper than anything else.

Overstock.com has a lot of them, too.
