Anyone know a good door installer in Houston? Also, what is considered to be a reasonable price to pay?

interior door..exterior door?? do you have to replace the jamb kit??
there's lots of in's and out's and whatnot...

I used A&M Doors at my office here and am having them put in a front door at the house I'm remodelling..

Exterior door. I don't think we have to replace the jamb kit... everything seems to be in order. We're basically going to order a full light door with reed glass. Something a bit more in line with a 50s house...

I used Cambridge Doors. They did a good job. My service advisor was Michael.

HA!! I'm about to call Cambridge to get a qoute on replacement windows... funny...

as for the full light with reeded glass... that's what we're doing for our front door... also with full light sidelights... should look sweet....

call A&M... ask for Deborah or Armando... the door itself will cost about $600 or so?? they do jamb kits for $275, but if you don't need it, then the install might be minimal.. maybe $150??? not sure...

Have you already ordered the door? Lone Star Plywood and Door can get you a unfinished full light fir door (ours is under a 6 ft. eave/porch) for $380. I think mahogany will run you about $100 more. We don't see the need for mahogany since we plan on painting the door.

being that this is for our front door we are getting mahogony and having it stained... raises the price up...

Gotcha... we're skipping on mahogany just because it's a crime to get a nice material and then just paint it. If you're staining it, that makes sense. What we're getting will be unfinished.
