i went to this place on friday night with a couple of friends. my first time there and it was outstanding. atmosphere was great and had indoor/outdoor and downstairs/upstairs seating... location is right across from the four seasons at 1st and san jacinto. they have valet parking. i can't remember the names of the dishes but here goes...
we started with a goat cheese and fried bread appetizer. the cheese was whipped and it was used to spread over the bread. the bread on its own was great in a tangy, caramel kind of sauce. we knocked it out in a hurry. i believe it was called the queso de cabra.
my friends had seafood dishes, which were very good from my samplings... but the real winner was my pork plate (i think it was the chuleta de cerdo a la parilla). it had a nice guava demi-glace that was grilled nicely into the pork chop and spread on the plate. it went very well with rice and sweet plantains, which ruled on their own.
lastly, we had a dessert that consisted of strawberries, plantains, caramel, rum, amy's mexican ice cream, and fire. needless to say, it was outstanding.
i recommend it, obviously.
