wow i wasn't expecting that at all. i worked with him a few times. he was fairly nice. his career in trailers had faded for the most part and was only used when they needed someone for a complete over the top comedy read that usually parodied action movies. but he was still getting plenty of tv work.

the guy was absolutely loaded. he was basically the first real voice over guy. before we had ISDN lines connecting VO artists to studios so they could work from home, he started the trend of having limos take them everywhere.

That probably means either more work or high wages for Texas Ex ASHTON SMITH.

Ashton does almost all of NBC's stuff and about 1/3 or more of the action movie trailers.
