dog training

Does anyone here have an Austin dog trainer/training class recommendation?

I have a fairly well-behaved 4-year-old dog. I also have a dog who's almost 3 and is well-behaved most of the time but has some issues. He usually walks well on a leash, but occasionally he has tried to drag me to smell things (he's very large and powerful enough when he wants to be), including a couple of times into the street. I think this is a dominance issue. He also has separation anxiety problems if left completely alone; he's fine if left with my other dog, but cries and panics when left alone.

Neither dog has been to classes, though I've trained them at home, and they understand quite a few commands and a lot of words.

Thanks for your help.

We took our german shepherd to taurus dog training, they were/are great. Highly recommended. We used the McNeil location.

I just did some research and noticed that Lee Mannix is right by my house.

I am probably gonna go for them.

Is $250 a class normal? Seems pretty steep.
Anyone have any ideas as to how good they are?

I've worked with Lee Mannix quite a bit and was very pleased. He can be a bit "brusque," and you'll have lots of work to do outside class, but if you can tolerate the former and will do the latter, you'll be pleased.

Lee Mannix's place is where we send our "higher maintenance" dogs from the shelter for a 6 week program.

There are specific classes you can take for the separation anxiety, as it is a behavioral problem and not a training problem. The Weimaraner rescue I adopted one of my dogs from uses Buddy's Chance.
