A couple of websites I read got banned by websense (the devil) today.

How does it work? If we change the web address is there any shot I will be able to access it?

Anything can be doen?

Websense uses a master URL library to block sites. You can read up on it at their FAQ.

There is also a Change Form to make a request to stop blocking a site.
Good Luck.

You can avoid it by using a proxy server.

Suppose you want to go toThe Link at work, but your work blocks it. You then visit a proxy server's URL and instruct it to fetch content fromThe Link It fetches content from hornfans and serves it up. Your company firewall has no clue that you are getting content fromThe Link It just knows that you are getting content from your proxy server.

There are plenty of proxy servers (often called anonymizers) for end users (many of which are probably blocked by websense). Porn hounds love it because it hides their IP address (and thus identity). Work slackers love it too, because it gets around the company firewall.

There are also proxy servers for web apps to make the apps more scalable.

one could always truely get aorund **** by slapping a G3 card into his laptop and riding a PCS signal. the work can't stop that noise. on a side note the fucktards on the investment side of where you work just forced your Global Engineering and Architecture group to use this shitbird of a product (opsware) for Server Management. pissed me off, pissed off the guy I work with where you work too.
