Does Cole Green have a tired arm?

After a remarkable run of complete games and a ton of pitches thrown, Cole has struggled his last two starts getting No Decision in both and leaving each game trailing. You have to wonder if his arm isnt a little tired and if he might not benefit from resting a start in an otherwise meaningless Big XII tourny.

With that in mind should Texas shut him down for next weekend with an eye toward his next start being in game two of the regional (assuming that we go with Workman as our Friday starter in the regional and Jungmann for the Sunday game).

The goal is Omaha not OKC and with Workman, Jungmann, Milner, Thomas and now McKirahan established as starters and long relievers with Chance to close for OKC why not give Cole a weekend off?

If he has a tired arm, it seems like Milner would be a very competent replacement for him for the Big XII tournament. Sure, why not give him a week to rest if he needs it.

Now that we know we start with Mizzou on Wednesday, why not treat that like a mid week game and throw Milner to start with Carillo, Thomas, McKirahan et al saving Jungmann for Thursday and Workman for Saturday. Green could go on Sunday if necessary giving him 8 days off at least. I'm not crazy about 4 days rest for Jungmann, Workman or Green when they are used to seven.

Where are you seeing that Milner gets start tomorrow? That is good news in terms of setting up the rotation.

I disagree, and Augie does too. This is a season of 5 Championships!

That said, we have several kids in the bullpen that would be weekend starters anywhere else in the Big 12 and maybe the country, so heck yeah, let's throw them!

I don't know if it is focusness or tiredness, but if the latter, I hope he is rested this week instead of using him. I saw that Milner will get the start today, on the news last night.
I really wish Loy would sit this tournament out, he does have an injury, and I think we will be fine without him in OKC.

Looks like Loy is out for the Tourney which is good news unless the not good news is that he's not IN for the Regionals...

I'm sure OK for Green to pitch sparingly in his start just to get some innings and then give Poindexter and crew the shut down responsibilty after 5.

Need all the bullets in the Glock when the damned Committee sends the Cali Team over here for Regionals that should be hosting their own.
