Does anyone have some song editing software?

Get Bearshare's free version here...
Bearshare
You have to then install it.
Do a search for Applications I think and look for
Acid Pro, Cakewalk, Sonar, Audio, or Recording, etc.

Can Audacity cut out the words to just leave the instrumental portion of songs?? I am trying to get some song instrumentals, but their singles didn't do just an instrumental version. I am wondering how radio statios are able to do this when they use songs as "buffer music". I am sure they have a little more contacts in the music industry than the lay person.

ghost, you pretty much answered your own question. When a major label record is mixed, they often make multiple mixes of certain songs . . . a PG-13 version, an instrumental version, a vocal-heavy version, etc.

There is a mastering technique known as "mid-side decoding" which lets one reduce (but not completely eliminate) vocals, but unfortunately it also has a detrimental effect on other things panned center . . . the snare drum, lead guitar, bass guitar, etc. One can process only on a certain EQ band and reduce the effect on some of the parts out towards either end of the spectrum, but it's hardly fool-proof.

This site kicks ***. A total stranger emailed me and offered to edit the song for me.

Thanks.
