He has to sit the girl down and tell her the story of kind hearted Johnny Mackovic. A good man, good coach, whose team quit on him, and who had to be asked to leave. It's nothing personal, its busine$$.

And remind her it's okay to accept resumes from men too.

That's why if goestenkors had any ounce of pride left she would do the right thing. But her arrogance is her downfall.

Lake if that were the case I would totally agree with you. Because once you lose your voice with the team, no matter how good of a coach you are you wont win. But I looked at the replay of the game last night, and When KSU first went up 20 and GG called a time out, the camera man did an excellent job of capturing that huddle. And the team was toally engaged and actively listening and then they came out and went on a 9-0 run and cut the lead to 11. So this team has not quit on their coach, getting tired because you have no sub and quitting are very different. But you are right, should there ever come a time where the team quits on the coach, then its time for a change no matter who is at the helm. Fortunately that hasnt happened yet.

She needs to go. I don't understand why some here still support her given she has done absolutely nothing to improve this program. Good intentions make you feel good, but results on the court are what matters.

It just isn't working here. The players have turned over without changing the direction of the program. She might go somewhere else and with the NCAA 15 times, she just cannot do it at Texas. A loss-loss.

So, let's just say Coach G leaves after this season. Texas gets a new coach. The new coach will have to wait 4-5 years for graduation of the girls that Coach G has brought in so that the new coach can start bringing in players that fit the new scheme. Texas won't be competitive for at least the next 6-8 years then. If only Jody had known when to leave...

UTExinPDX, that is incredibly untrue in my opinion. A really good coach can win with anyone's players. If we got the right person in here, they could be winning at a better clip within a single season and produce a marked difference within 3. I've seen it numerous times.

PDX, The flaw in your logic is assuming the current players couldn't perform any better. I believe they could easily have 5 more wins right now with a better coach. This team isn't nearly as bad as they are playing and with two solid recruiting classes and a better coach I think they could be back in the top ten fairly quickly.

Today I felt like researching Women's Basketball Coach's. I was amazed at what I find! Check this out!

K.Meier - Miami 7th Season

So what happen to Texas! We look worst then we did 3 - 4 years ago. Now I am curious to know, how did Seattle know so early in GG career, that she was not the right fit. Please tell me Seattle.

Hey Dino, I have a prepared response... I'll think of a way to give you my "two cents" on things. The sunshine pumpers don't deserve to know the reasons on why I knew Goestenkors was not the right coach for Texas.

Seattle

Anyone remember that Neuheisel was almost hired as Texas next head coach after Mackovic? Just about everyone knew he wasn't a fit and everyone was calling for Deloss' job. A committe was formed and Mack was eventually hired.

In this case we were trying to hire a coach folloing the Darrell Royal of Texas womens basketball and everyone fell for the shiny new winner at Duke including me.

Seattle clearly saw someting we didn't and I applaude that. I now see the mistake and am ready to move on.
