Do we run this conference or not?

In light of the Hager reprimand, I’m sick of having piss ant schools and administrators have stupid rules intended only to “keep UT in line”.

Because if we do in fact run this conference:

1) Kansas needs to change its rediculous “no live mascot rule” or even better allow for a “Bevo” exception.

2) I would prefer more games to be held on the LHN. Especially if there is a financial incentive for us to do so and/or it would piss any other league member off.

What other changes need to be made?

If you want Texas to be a local team, that's a great idea. If you want Texas to regain national prominence, they need to be on national TV every chance they get.
 
We could reprimand OU every time an opposing player does the horns down. Even when its a West Virginia player.

I know one thing, there would be almost 100% turnover of Big 12 Officials.

Fewer longhorn fans being whiny-*** crybabies would be a good start.
 
1) Not only is it rediculous, but it's ridiculous too, but understandable.
2) I don't think more games on the LHN are to our advantage. The more games on major networks the better.
 
It is clear OU runs this conference (rule changes for Mayfield, more favorable schedule before the TX-OU game, etc). What is even more annoying is OU runs the conference, yet everyone always gets mad at Texas for allegedly running the conference.

Whiny? The Big 12 Commish just forced Hager to lie to the entire universe. Will they next force us to remove “goodbye to A&M”?

We need to start making the rest of the Big 12 fear us and antics like this are terrible.

Bowlsby also did it right at our return to prominence in football. Litterally a move to establish dominance.

CDC and Fenves need to work behind the scenes to respond to this. We have the money, the brand, everything the Big12 needs to survive.

If we left, even leaving OU behind, its becomes the modern day Big East. They need to be thankful for us and cut this crap out.

I agree about national TV. But I am sick of being pushed around by a bunch of second rate wimps.

Fenves is an corrupt idiot who flew to Tulsa to beg a mediocre offensive coordinator to take our job. Fenves is a big reason why OU runs the Big 12. Do not count on tiddlywinks from him.

Well, the big cigars that are surely members of this forum need to start the process of freeing us from Fenves. We need to quit being the 800 pound gorilla that gets pushed around.
 
As a Texas fan I get tired of the bashing, the horns down, the cesspool comments, and everything else. I get tired of the whining version, parroted by aggy and the media alike, as to why they left the conference because of mean ol' Texas. It inconveniences the victim narrative if these people include the fact that we invited aggy to come along with us and put a deal together but they declined.

I'm with Dion .. the way to run this show, shut everyone up along the way, and put them in their places is to Win. Let's do that :hookem:
 
NO, we do not run the conference. We did; it was created as the Deloss Dodds Conference. When Deloss retired, Dr Boren took over, but her realized that he had to keep the sleeping giant down South happy. Now, Dr Boren has retired leaving control of the conference to Bowelsby. Between Bowelsby & Fenves the only "ball" you will find is one made to play football, baseball, or basketball.

Bowelsby is totally clueless and Fenves is whiny, sneaky, lying piece of ****. They shop at the same place for their spine "worms are us"
 
We need to get out of this high school conference before OU does. Because once they are gone, we are a bad version on the SWC circa 1991. Go West, Southeast, or Independent. But get off this sinking ship.

Empty threat. Everyone is tied to the Big XII through the rights Agreement (same type of document that holds the other conferences together). The next change will be early in the 2020's when all of the TV contracts are up for renegotiation.
 
I L-O-V-E the horns down. absolutely love it. i love that WVU used it in a play call last week. L-O-V-E it. the fact that multiple teams use it even when they aren't playing us is spectacular.

Agree 100% w Viper.

Grant of Rights thru summer 2025 guarantees that Texas (or OU for that matter) are not leaving the B12 much less negotiate policy with an empty threat.

We just need to remember that Winning solves everything.
