Do we have gamers?

We had super talent but did we have gamers? Do we have any Danny Peoples types that probably will never play pro ball but will pick a team up when it's needed? Do we have any dirt-bags? Just thinking back to championship years when there were guys that did things beyond their talent. Will we next year?

Very few dirtbags to speak of. Torres is a dirtbag. He's by far my favorite player out of this bunch and I think he's going to tear it up next season.

Danny Peoples was a first round pick, so it's hard to believe that he did things beyond his talent. But, don't let me interrupt you while you're on a roll.

I don't know, you had a catcher turned third baseman trying to play through what looked like an excruciating injury; you had a catcher give it his all for 17 innings in 90+ degree heat; and you had a pitcher start one game and throw TWICE in relief a day later to help his team stave off elimination. I'd say you have some gamers.

i thought travis tucker would be that guy this year, and despite his somewhat mediocre numbers, he's been a max effort player. fun to watch a lot of times, especially on the base paths i.e. 4th run in tonight's game

chance ruffin is probably the guy you're looking for from this 08 team, but i agree there are guys across the board that laid it on the line for wins. hell, russell's squeeze attempt tonight (even though i think it was dumb) was an example of doing what he thinks will lead to a win for the team. i know the UT career HR leader sure as hell wasn't bunting for personal spotlight

Kyle Lusson? RIde the pine for most of the season then come in and make a pair of incredible catches? Good judgement at the plate when he got the chance coaxing a pair of walks.

doesn't really matter because half of the team isn't going to be here next year.

...and Belt is a "gamer".
