"Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."

The History of Longhorn Sports through 2014
A Christmas wish from TLSN
The TLSN Board of Directors prays for good health, good luck, good families, good jobs, and goodwill to all Longhorns. However, TLSN remains as a sentinel prepared to assist qualifying Longhorns when help is needed.

On April 29th, 2017, TLSN built a new trail making intercollegiate athletic sports history. TLSN is the first private charitable and tax-exempt with the specific mission of offering temporary financial assistance to qualifying former Longhorn student-athletes, coaches, student managers, trainers, and their immediate families. TLSN has issued grants of $65,000 to help 6 qualifying former student athletes.

There has been push back from some who don't believe in the mission, but TLSN has survived growing from 19,000 impressions in 2017 to 425,000 in 2022. It took “touches of support” from TLSN donors, Longhorn visionary Jimmy Nixon, the former Chairman of the University of Texas Board of Regents- Gene Powell, teammate Syd Keasler, President Pat Frost of Frost Bank, UT administrators Ricky Brown and Jill Sterkel, Miami Super bowl champ Glenn Blackwood, interim Athletic Director Mike Perrin, and present Executive Senior Associate AD/Chief of Staff Chris Plonsky’s professional input, to push the TLSN mission forward.

However, Our mission is still not complete! Most former Longhorn student-athlete brand builders are still unaware of the TLSN mission, and TLSN has no easy way to access the qualifying email base of around 10,000 families. TLSN continues to try and tell our story, but accessing the emails of those who are part of the TLSN mission remains tediously slow.
