i wish the benches were burnt orange so we could at least look full for the crappier part of our home schedule every damn year.

goo, the nez will not have any empty seats, even for the crappier games. the people who sit in the nez are not the wealthiest patrons and they are always in their seats. on the other hand, the high dollar seats between the 20's on the lower west side are not full when we aren't playing a big opponent.

Are you guys kidding? I've been to almost every home game for the past 8 years and the stadium is generally packed, even for the lousy games. Sure some of the 'grey hairs' and 'sorority girls' leave at halftime, but 90% of the stadium stays the full game.

Oh... and thanks for the pics. That looks great.

Thanks for the great pics. They got the missing seats in

As the outside gets closer the more excited I get, even for FA and Rice.

I like the fact that the north and west sides have been attached, but I'd still like to see full wrap-around ribbon boards installed inside the stadium.

Great pics!!!!

I hope we do something to the outside of the west stands to blend better with the north (see pic #7). That old gray concrete just looks bad. Maybe paint it burnt orange and biege like we have on the interior part of the stands or better yet, overlay with the same brick as the north and east side with the biege trim.

Thoughts?

amazing, especially considering how things looked a few months ago....all of the anxiety so many had abt whether or not the work would be completed by the opening game.

god bless the concrete pourers, steel workers, and brick layers

Looks really really nice.

I wish we would do a brick facade and paint the West side upper deck that tanish color used on the other sides, but honestly that sort of money wont be spent on something that won't bring money in.

Awesome pics of the fountain and MLK statue! Do you have larger res versions of them by chance? Those are wallpaper quality!

I like the exterior of the west stands the way it is. Once the stadium is completely done, it will be cool to see new and old merged together. I think matching it with the other exteriors would look quite grotesque.

What is with the concourse to the left of Section 111? Is this to prevent obstructed views from the west side overhang?

What will be there on gamedays?

You can see on the far right where the north endzone and east side upper decks merge. Looks pretty damn good but why does the NEZ have much larger concourses? Is this handicap access issues?

The glass exterior on the NEZ looks really really sharp.

But what is going to be on the inside of that? Food court? The NEZ Club? Does the NEZ Club overlook the field or is that only the Club Suites?

I have been in the Eastside Club many times and the Club overlooks east outside the stadium and the Club does not overlook the field. They have closed circuit tvs in the Eastside Club that show game action. Will this be the same?

I will upload and put up links to higher res versions of the first few photos when I get back to town.

The upper deck concourse does seem a little different but not that much. Likely more stringent egress or accessibility codes and/or interpretations between now and 1997.

The elevator in the turret seems taller because it has a landing at the concourse and then an overhead penthouse section where the hoist beam is.

Thanks for the answers!!!

I drove by the stadium yesterday, and holy **** is that thing big. You really can't appreciate it until you see it in person.

Can anyone give a verbal update on the progress of the outside. I feel guilty to ask for more photos in the heat in Austin right now.
