anybody out there have experience with a Fischer & Paykel DishDrawer dishwasher?
The Link

My KitchenAid just died and the dude recommended this one as being very quiet and efficient. I like the large capacity and the fact that you can run each drawer independantly. I want to see if there were any horror stories out there before i go drop a bunch of $$$ on what turns out to be a euro-styled piece of ****.

thanks.

We don't have the DishDrawer model, but have had our Fischer and Paykel dishwasher for almost five years and have no complaints. I'd never heard of them before we got ours, but my mother-in-law does appliance sales to custom home builders and she recommended it to us (not to mention getting it extremely cheap for us). Quiet and efficient pretty much like the guy told you.

I'll give the MIL a call and see what she can tell me about the DishDrawer.

Okay, just got off the phone with the MIL. She said they're excellent and people are pretty much apeshit over them right now. She said they don't really wash any better than a standard dishwasher, but they're so quiet you can hardly even tell when they're running.

I see the one you linked is a 603 model and she said that is the one to buy. She advised not to let someone sell you a 602 (previous year's model) because they didn't wash as well as the new one does.

I looked at that but settled on GE's triton/stainless model, which cost me 1/2 as much. My experience with GE appliances has been (a) they are durable as ****; and (b) anyone can fix them immediately because everyone carries parts.

I think Fisher & Paykel have some deal where the only part to wear out is one valve, or something to that effect, so perhaps they are even more reliable.

But $1,200 seems a little silly for a dishwasher.

Get a Bosh or another Kitchen Aid(we have that one)......the difference between the Bosh and Kitchen Aid is the Kitchen Aid has a hard food disposer while the Bosh doesn't so you have to clean the screen at the bottom. That makes the KA just a bit more noisy but not by much according to my ears..................

Does the Fisher & Paykel have a disposer or just a screen? Since it is European I am guessing no disposer.
