Dish Network vs Direct TV

I currently have Dish Network with a PVR receiver with single tuner but I am considering changing to DirectTV to get the dual tuner TIVO receiver. Is there much difference in the two services? Is one better than the other? Thanks in advance...

I switched from Dish back to DirecTV just because of the HDTV Tivo. I didn't like the Dish DVR as it wasn't a true "tivo."

DirecTV is probably a little nicer, but otherwise I haven't noticed an appreciable difference.

I still run into times when the Dual Tuners aren't enough. I can't imagine how inconvenient life with a single tuner is like.

Dish is about to be in a world of hurt. DirecTV will be providing local channels in HD next year.

Stupid question: I am in H-town and have DISH, but want to switch to Direct TV.... who do I call.... the same sat provider who put in the DISH or the main company? Also, can both use the same SAT, or will they want to change the SAT on my roof? Thanks.

I've used both. DirectTV video quality is much better than Dish.
