Americas toxic chemical version of Russia's nuclear Chernobyl? Not only train derailment huge spill, but mushroom cloud vinyl chloride burn off decision in the air?

MSM is largely silent or greatly downplaying the incredible seriousness of the WEEK AGO + huge train derailment in Palestine OH. Warnings to 5 area states. Animals, & fish dead, dying or symptoms - Ohio River greatly tainted and traveling to other states, etc.

Nothing from sleepy Joe, Trans. Sec. Pete spoke up barely first time today, nothing from EPA head, nothing from FEMA. Where is Fed LEADERSHIP on a major catastrophe like this!? No different than a hurricane or a flood?

WTF! If this was DC, Maryland, or Northern VA the Feds would be all over this!

Unfortunately short and long term health / cancer threats to millions living in and around that area and surrounding states.

CNN had the head of the EPA on to answer questions. Other than say local and state officials were leading the response, he was able to never answer any question directly.
 
It's an incredible & huge environmental disaster! Just stunning indifference by the Feds.

Feds are more interested in environmental equity and solar panels than peoples lives.

Feds and Leftists, even the environmental orgs, don't really care about the environment. If they did, they would be screaming about this. But they aren't because it doesn't help their true goal, which is taking more and more power away from citizens. Environmental activism is simply another way to do that. The company supplying or buying this material probably has enough ESG points from discriminating against white people, so they get a pass.

I suspect this disaster is FAR more serious than is being reported.

Regardless, BIDEN admin will blame Trump for this disaster!

I doubt this. These chemicals either vaporize or breakdown in sunlight. If you read the articles, folks are confounding what happened within 2 days of the derailment with what is happening today (which is little). If there was a similar-sized spill everyday, then yes you would be right.
 
Chemical stuff blowing up, killing people, and flooding the air with toxic gases used to happen a lot in the Greater Houston area. It’s a tragedy when it happens.

Sounds like some railroaders are saying this train was way too long for these tracks…? Other reports say it may have been an overheated/wiped bearing on the wheels/axle on one of the tanker cars that was the root cause of the derailment.

McHammer, You tell us not to worry about inflation on another thread. And here your saying VCM will just dissipate in 2 days? Based on what?
Vinyl Chloride Monomer breaks down into Phosgene and Hydrochloric Acid (in the presence of water vapor). If it gets in the presence of SO2, hydrogen sulfide, if creates HS2SO4 (Sulfuric Acid). If concentrations are high enough this can kill, or cause cancer later on. I built and ran a carbon reactivation facility for 10 years. I am still in the business. We would reject carbon with VCM adsorbed into it, due to how hazardous it is. We made 5 million lbs per year of carbon to adsorb HAPS. Hazardous Air Pollutants. You keep saying ****, with nothing to back it up. Two things I know a lot about, hard money (Bitcoin, Gold, Silver, Land), and HAPS. Outside of that, flame away.
Next thing I know your gonna tell me Barry Manilow was the greatest musician of all time!

Is the comparison of Ohio train to Chernobyl fair? As a business guy, it seems overkill (at least thus far).

The VCM was burned 12 days ago. Clean up crews have been there for 10 days now. The only thing left is emotionalism. Did you read the CNN article?
