Disappointed in MOB

Would like any takes on the MOB this year. Halftime certainly did not live up to their standards, especially given all the recent activity in the Big 12. Did not even understand what was going on with the whole NUTS topic, which they could have really expanded upon much better.

It was pretty weak, especially considering they had all summer to come up with something entertaining. The acoustics are so bad in Relaint that I had a hard time understanding what the announcer was saying so it was no doubt hard to follow along.

The MOB used to be really funny. Kind of like Saturday Night Live.

lots of folks around us didn't understand what was going on - especially with the maypole near the endzone. what was it? i couldn't even hear the band either - just had to assume they were playing.

MOB is a shell of its former self. Now they are just annoying.

The MOB jumped the shark at least a decade ago. Now they just appear to be dorks and geeks.

The Mob could have come out and taken a collective **** at midfield, and it would have been better than the magenta flags and "a tribute to Spain" that the Longhorn Band dropped on unsuspecting fans.

the MOB blew.

they needed a PA system. the entire game presentation made Rice come off as a MickyMouse organization, which obviously they aren't.

...and if you hear another person talk about big bad UT beating up on Rice, be sure to remind them that the UT game probably put their previously fiscally deficient athletics program in the black.

plus, riding the train with the MOB takes much of the mystique out of the band.

lebron really can't float the MOB money for a bus?

btw, did everyone know that you don't even have to be a Rice student to perform in the MOB?

I agree the mob has been lame for 10 years or more. I can't remember the last time they made me laugh. Just a bunch of pencil necked geeks and smart alecs

Used to love the MOB, esp when they made fun of us, but that was just lame.

Production of whole game was high-schoolish. No instant replays? Sound at Reliant is terrible.

Lookin fwd to getting back to DKR.

Dono about acoustics at Reliant but the ones at Memorial Stadium really suck--the godzillatron is so loud I can feel my eardrums reverberate with every effing commercial for every official sponsor of UT athletics.

Re the Longhorn band----------why do a tribute to Spain? Why not Mexico? Half our state's population will be from there in a year or two and the only evidence of from UT is the commericals on the radio for Matt's cruddy Mexican food.

How about playing Jalisco or some other song suggesting we have some ties with the place? Though I have to admit I would prefer tortilla tossing.

Those of us who remember the MOB from its earliest days can attest that the thing has withered dramatically over the past 20 years.
