My wife wants to get disability insurance because there is a chance we'll get pregnant in the next year and she wants to be covered as far as partial salary replacement is concerned; she is a teacher so she doesn't get the paid maternity leave that most corporate jobs offer. She isn't eligible to enroll in her own until open enrollment in October, and my benefits don't offer disability for spouses. What are her options as fas as third-party plans go? Anyone have experience with this?
