DirecTV pay per view

I got a message from DTV that starting 4/15 when you buy a movie it will expire 24 hrs later. Will we still have the option to save it and watch it again or will we only have the 24 hr window to re-watch a movie?

How long did it used to be for? Time Warner has had the 24 hr limit for years on their PPV movies.

Also, isn't using bit torrent to download movies illegal?

I know when I had DirectTV it was a 24 hour limit to WATCH the movie.

However, I think the OP really was asking something else.

I think he was saying that the movies which have been recorded on the DVR wont be accessable after 24 hours- meaning you cant record the movie and rewatch it several days later like you currently can.

The way I read it was once you actually bought a movie that is when the 24 hrs start. You can record it and it will stay on your hard drive for a long time but once you decide to buy/watch the movie then you can only watch it during the 24 hours.

i will most likely greatly limit my PPV purchases from this point forward.

it is a stupid idea and one is shortsighted and will only cost DTV $$
