I have the regular Directv DVR (non-HD). I'm about to purchase the DVR-HD box. My dish is mounted on a pole about 100ft from the house.

Will the line I buried work for the DVR-HD. I buried two lines, one for the signal and the other for the DVR.

And, yes, I have the proper dish for the HD channels. I cuurently have a HD receiver in another room.

thanks......

You're supposed to use RG6 cable for satellite applications. You can check the jacket of the coax cables to see if they are RG6 or RG59, but I would think you are in the clear if it's already working with your current DirecTV setup.

Do the lines enter the house at roughly the same place? If so, you should run them into a diplexer and from there run the cables into your DVR and existing box. This would allow you to watch one channel and record another, which you won't be able to do with only one coax running into the DVR...
