Directions to Bryan, TX

What is the best way to get to Bryan? My nephew has a high school playoff game there this Sat. afternoon. I live in south Austin close to IH35 and HWY 71. What is the best way to get there and how long does it take?

71E to HWY 21 -- looks shorter in distance, but HWY 21 is a smaller highway through several small towns.
OR
IH35 to HWY 79 to HWY 6 -- looks slightly longer in distance, but HWY 79 is a bigger highway and may flow faster.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Start driving, and when you get to the middle of nowhere, stop.

Actually, I usually take 290 to 21, but I guess it depends on where you're leaving from.

Definitely 71 to 21. I think that 21 probably has more 4-lane highway than 79, so the shorter distance makes it the best bet.

I wondered what sort of responses I might get for asking that.

Thanks for the suggestions.........and the laughs!

i take 290 east about 40 minutes until you hit 21. take a left on 21 (east) and you go about an hour. you should then see a sign that directs you to a&m/CS on highway 47. since you are going to bryan, continue on 21 until you hit FM 2818. take a right on 2818 and that is likely more bryan.

i am not too certain about left or right on 2818. it depends on where you are going. i believe once you hit 2818, you are in bryan. i have a friend who lived off of 2818 near welborn (off villa maria) and his address was bryan, tx.
