Direct Mail / Mailing Lists

I have a potential client who wants to send postcards to certain areas of town or apartment complexes. I know there are companies out there that will print and/or label and/or mail these things. Have any of y'all ever used anyone to do this or have you done it yourself?

I'd like to know where you get the listing of all the addresses for apartment complex XYZ or all $100,000+ homes in zip code PDQ and what it costs, so that I can see if it would be cheaper/easier to do it myself or should I just pay one company to do all of it and make less profit for myself.

Any thoughts?

on a final note, in houston, they have the cole directory at the public library, don't know about other cities.

You can buy the lists, but you need to make sure they are carrier route sort certified for deliverability. (or you get hammered by the post office) The biggest expense on something like this is the postage. You can define you list relaitvely specifically.
