Digital Camera Question

I'm currently shopping for a compact digital camera. I've used an Olympus 35mm SLR for a while now, but I'm wanting to delve into the digital realm and I'm looking for something really compact and portable. I don't really know what to look for, though.

The Sony Cyber-Shot DSC P-200 really jumped out at me simply because it is very compact and also is 7.2 MP, which seems great.

Do any of you have experience with this camera or other Sony cameras? Or, do you have any other recommendations? I'm wanting to use it mostly to take travel pictures. I'm going to Colorado, the Phillipines and China in the next few months and I'd like some nice pictures.
Thanks in advance!

I just got a Canon PowerShot SD400 digital elph, Its about the size of a deck of cards, only 5.0 mega pixels but I’m not going to be able to tell the difference. Got it and a 256MB memory card for less than 500 bucks. I looked at the Sony's because they had a bigger view screen, but chose to go with the Canon because it was a little cheaper and the guy at the store said there wasn’t really much of a difference.

No experience to speak of, but I placed an order this weekend for a Canon SD-500. Looked at epinions as well as this article in Wired magazine - Magnificient Seven. Looks like you can't go wrong with the Sony. We also wanted to so short videos with the camera, so that's why we went with the Canon.
