Digital Cable: Better?

Since I'm out of Austin I can't get the new BEVO-D channel regardless, but I was thinking of maybe upgrading to digital cable if the quality is better. Is there much of a difference in quality vs. analog? Would I need a cable box for each TV or can I still use a spliter?

I'm not going to use I-Control or Parental features or any of that other stuff, so I'm just concerned about the video quality.

I personally can't ******* stand TW Digital. It takes a few seconds to switch between channels, the 'Guide' rarely loads the correct information, you cannot eliminate unwanted channels (well, you can, but you can only use your 'favorites' button to go up through them, not down), the picture is atrocious on some channels (i can almost always see the little digital squares), the signal itself is iffy in most locations, and about 1/2 of our 'premium' channels never load at all.

In other words, I prefer analog. It doesn't help that we have the biggest POS cable box that doesn't even have a digital or optical out for audio (5.1 on HBO, for example) nor an S-Video or Component Video out either. Apparently, Time Warner does everything they can to encourage you to get their DVR box. Because we don't have it and this box sucks ***.

Also, I called Time Warner TWICE to set up appointments to see if they can do anything abou the signal. First guy came but didn't know anything, Second guy never even called during the allotted 4 hour time. I'd give a testicle to have Grande, but they don't service these parts. Yet.

TW digital would be great if THEY COULD FIX THE BUGS.
I hate having to wait 5 secs before the channel finally changes, delayed broken picture, and sometimes some channels never come on.
But the majority of the time (notice i didnt say most) the pic and sound is better than standard.
