I am trying to recall when "the class and dignity associated with the office" held sway. Was it during the eight years of the ex coke head frat boy cheerleader or the serial rapist perjurer who preceeded him?
Or was it the two before, who trotted Marine Colonels up to Congress about violations of laws they signed and then pardoned all the people in their administration who were convicted?
Or the classy guy right before who was terrified by a swimming rabbit and made no attempt to get along with his own party's congressional delegation and threw morose temper fits when things didn't go his way?
ANd then there were those two models of class and dignity, Nixon and LBJ. ANd that devout Catholic philanderer and drug abuser, JFK?
Ike was a classy and dignified guy. He's been dead over forty years.
We are governed by the banana republic equivalent of a meritocracy that is made up of the pampered offspring of a self indulgent upper economic stata and a bunch of affirmative action prima donnas.
All the dogs in these fights are, remember, sons of *******.
