Did Texas invent the Rally Cap routines?

Obviously been watching these games for many years and I remember one year Texas doing all the funny dugout rally routines with the caps, the two fingers for two outs, etc. Thus, I thought it was the Horns that started that, but it could have easily been some other team prior to then that I hadn't seen.

Anyone know? Do you have any empirical data?

Apparently it started in 1942 at Tiger Stadium, in Detroit. Some of the fans started wearing their hats inside out when the Tigers were losing, to help drum up some runs. It eventually carried over to the players...and the rest is history.

The turning of the caps inside out would have been step 1. But it seems that doing the choreographed dance routines would be much more a collegiate thing than that of the pros.

Texas was the first team I remember getting attention in college for it at the CWS, I doubt it was their invention. And of course now the whole concept has pretty much gone to a new level of creativity.
