Did McGuffie have any interest in us?

I was never too impressed... still on the fence & waiting to see how he does.

Having said that, he is a lock for a D1 contributor... was he ever interested in us? Did we have any interest or even try to recruit him?

I don't know if we expressed much interest. He committed to Mich. very early and never had a second thought.

I was just about to make a post about this guy? WHO IS HE? He looks like a little pissant, but is absolutely a terror so far...it is quite hilarious to watch this little white dude wreck havoc

Why is Michigan running him between the tackles? He's a slot, outside the tackles guy who is very talented in space. Never gonna break a tackle near the line of scrimmage. I'd love to see the kid return kicks & punts.

those that have not heard of him should go look up his clip on youtube. he is launching over a defender trying to tackle him. he flat out clears him. it's a cool shot.

nevermind, got it for ya...

I'm really pissed off we didnt get McGuffie. Don't get me wrong, I like fozzy, vondrell, and johnson, but after watching the McGuffie play this year and his high school highlight videos I REALLY wish we had him.

Actually we could have had an all irish backfield with McCoy, McGuffie, and McGee.

Mcguffie hated everything about this state and was not going to attend any school inside Texas. He especially hated UT and had zero interest in the horns. Texas showed zero interest him as well.

He went to cy fair high school. Word is he's done this before. Sort of an aggie-sympathizer school any way.

wes welker moved to RB. he's a feisty little ****, he should make a good name for himself in the pansy *** little 10.

Sooner -

I used to live in Scotland.

While it is accurate to say that Mac/Mc can't be attributed exclusively to Scotland/Ireland, it is an exaggeration to call it "complete and under nonsense ".

Yes, both prefixes have historical origins in each place, but Mac was significantly more prevelant in Scotland. Movements over the past two centuries have diluted that fact, but even today it is still true.

When people would call and say "this is Ronald McDonald" I would say, "can you spell that?" and they would say "the Irish McDonald". In is commonly accepted (even if inaccurate) to refer to each spelling as either the Irish spelling or the Scottish spelling.

Anyway, thank you for pointing that out, as you are accurate, but I think the reality is a bit more nuanced than than bright line drawn in the link you posted.

Back to McGuffie - dude was the only thing Michigan had going for them. Take him away, and Notre Dame pounds them 38-0.

McGuffie's dad is from Michigan and loves the Wolverines. His mom likes Texas A&M and would have liked for him to go there (I saw her interviewed once and she kind of acted aggie, so that didn't surprise me). He decided to go to Michigan very early in the process.
I stood close to him at the Round Rock/Lufkin playoff game at The Berry Center and was amazed how small he was. I saw him play a couple of times and he was fun to watch. He would get hidden in piles of tacklers only to spin out of he pile and head down the field. I wasn't sure how he would do against bigger/faster college players but he seems to be doing fine.

My cousin played HS ball w/ McGuffie.. said the kid was dumb as rocks. Then again, I suppose you don't have to be smart to play running back.. just have the quarterback point at the ball, point at McGuffie, and then point at the end zone. Still, back to my original point.. he's dumb. How that describes him going to Michigan.. I don't know. However, that does describe why he would have even thought about goin' to Aggie.. and furthermore that idiocy/allegiance to aTm is genetic. I would worry about this kid ever seeing this post, but I am so absolutely positive I could break him in two.

Can you imagine if he went to Tech? The kid was absolutely born to be in that offense.

Did he commit to LLLoyd Carr? What a break to get RRod if that's the case.

My relatives on my mothers side come from Scotland. Their name is Mcmillan. There are plenty of Mc's in Scotland, and for that matter plenty of Mac's.

One is not more or less Scottish than the other.

I will make my earlier post politically correct.
Actually we could have had an all irish/scottish/northern, western british isles backfield with McCoy, McGuffie, and McGee. Is everyone happy?
