Diamonds - quick question

A couple of months ago someone posted a guide to buying an engagement ring that was really interesting and helpful. Unfortunately I did not have the foresight to bookmark it. As I get closer to actually buying one I want to reread it. Any help would be appreciated.

I put one up that I had read which was for readers like myself who knew nothing about diamonds. Not sure if thats the one you were referring to but I'll include it.

Was it Kierkegaard or Dick Van Patten that said:

"when buying diamonds, always take into account the 3-C's....cheap, cheap, and CHEAP!"

Seriously, do lots of shopping around with reputable jewelers. Good luck.

are places like Blue Nile reputable? Anyone bought a diamond or an entire ring from there before? Their design-a-ring looks pretty interesting.

A good friend of mine used Blue Nile and found them to be pretty helpful and the ring he got was pretty high quality.

On the other hand, when I was buying my fiance's engagement ring, I could get custom design and an equivalent diamond for the same price at a reputable family run place close to Houston.

There's a guy I have used named Buddy Malouf, and his company is called BEMA industries, I think. They're located on the corner of 635 and Preston near Valley View mall. He's always been straight up with me.
