Dexter Pratt update..

Help me out here. According to the article way down on the list, Mack says we are 4 schollies short of the limit. According to the roster table I have, we are just 1 shy(Darrell Scott offer). Here is my roster table, but who have we lost that I am unaware of?

The roster you have has 83, by your own count, which is two short. Any more than that are casualties that Mack has not revealed. There always are. Kind of explains why J. Webb was told to "find his other options".

Mack did say they were sitting on 15 schollies for next year, which is 13 seniors plus two not used this year.

Nytejag, where did you get your roster chart? I would like to print one of my own. If you made it up yourself, nice work!

Unbiased Horn,

Sorry this is off the topic of this thread but I thought that you should know your signature is inaccurate. Durant did not attend Oak Hill. He went to Montrose Christian.

Who was Gilberts primary receiver (#6) for Lake Travis? That guy looks great! Is he a Jr? If so, are we looking at him as well.

Pratt's an athlete and good, but if he waits too long, there may not be any room at the inn for him here. I have a feeling this class is gonna be something very special, and I think it will/is coming together very quickly.

jcas57, this is one that I made with help from one of our pay sites. Rivals many times does not show what position a player is projected to play at ( Hales shows as a rb), so I used there help in that matter. Also, I printed and scanned it as a picture, so you should be able just to right click and save it for yourself.

NCAA rules-- football players on scholarship count toward the 85 limit. Can't sneak one in on any other dept., even academic, even if they deserve it.

What are the random #s to the right of the players?

Pratt, if he wants to come here, will need to decide b4 NSD b/c it appears that we will be done by summer. so unless some departures happen next year we wont have any ships left.

Contractor, the numbers are the postion rankings handed down by Rivals. They don't always mean much, because as you can tell, several players are not at the position as ranked by Rivals. Just something I added for my own recollection.

Matt has a medical condition (heart irregularity of some kind) that prevents him from playing. UT applied to the NCAA to convert his scholarship to a "medical scholarship" (I don't know if this is the actual, formal NCAA designation), so while his scholarship counted against the 25 last year, it won't count against the 85 total we are allowed.
I believe this is an accurate summation of the situation, though I haven't heard whether approval for conversion to medical has occurred. There is no reason for this to be denied, however, AFAIK.
This is usually the case for this type of situation, and IMO one of the few NCAA scholarship policies that is worthy of unstinting and unqualified praise.

We haven't had too much luck with athletes from Navasota...I attribute it to them being too close to aggy. Pratt's good, but I think Mack moves on if Pratt doesn't verbal pretty quickly.

Even though Shipley is a senior next year, I think he could get another year through a medical redshirt situation. He might be around another year after this coming year

just commentary....

anyone else notice from his myspace page the lovely chicken scratch that passes for high school communication these days?

spelling still taught in high school or is this just texting while typing?

at least he has a killer instinct for the game...
