Dexter finale

I don't want to spoil anything here, so I will keep my comments somewhat ambiguous for those that haven't see it.

I thought the lumberjack thing was a bit over the top. It would've been better just ending with Hannah reading the story about Dexter on her tablet and then walking off with Harrison to get ice cream ...The End.

The CGI for the storm was also pretty horrid.

I thought the whole thing was network TV daytime soap opera quality. Yet, in its totality, still one of the best series ever.

Here is an alternate ending from Clyde Phillips former exec producer --

I liked what they were trying to do... but the boat wreck and "no survivors" is so cliche. I thought the writers built you up to a point where there just didn't seem to be any reason for him to go on living... and then he goes on.

I think I figured out my big issue - there wasn't a big climax, and I never really felt that tense. Everything was resolved so easily. I did like the final scene with Dexter and whatshisname - I thought he managed it really well - but again, it was sort of easy! And Hanna's escape was the same.

My ending would have cut to the lumber mill and it would have been some other random guy going about his day, going back to his home and as he's opening his door, there's Dexter with a needle.

One thing I did find odd was Dexter saying that he didn't want to leave Deb like that and then dumping her in the ocean to be eaten by the fishes.
