Wow ... this kid is a BEAST! Best speed rusher in high school football. Question is, Can we pull him away from Arizona State and out of the mitts of Pete Carroll at USC?

Here's what he said about us:

Texas: "Texas is big time football. It's crazy down there and I really liked my unofficial visit. It is a very cool place to be and they also have talked about me playing that hybrid d-end position."

He'd be a GREAT get. Here are some highlights ....

That hit at about 1:20 is monstrous. I really really hope we land him, but it will be an uphill battle, I think.

I think that kid can step in from Day one and be a player.

I think he will be all conference is second year and All American is 3rd and 4th year.

His DE highlights are as impressive as any defensive end ive seen at the high school level.

They look way better than Everson Griffens highlights who was all everything in highschool.

On an unrelated note, those VY highlights were pretty sick as well.

This kid was made to play for Muschamp, and no coach , imho would better utilize and showcase his formidable talents. These two need to get together.

What is he, a "two play" or maybe "three play" player?: you watch his reel, and after just two or three plays, you know you want him.

And we can't forget those highlights were from his junior year or earlier. He'll be even more unreal this year (barring injury). He went from 7 sacks as a sophomore to 24 as a junior.

Like his dad, he should be playing on Sundays in the future. Great prospect.

He is a badass mofo.

The rumor is that Coach Muschamp is designing some special defenses to take advantage of his unique abilities should he come to Texas.

Not sure what our chances are with this kid but he looks like an absolute beast out there. Kennard under a Muschamp D would be a dream for us and a nightmare for everyone else.

Great video. The kid has a fantastic first step. Time after time he just beat the offense off the snap of the ball. He reminds me of Maurice Evans who is starting for Penn St..

Anytime I see videos from out of state I always say "yeah, well, what is the competition really like?" I mean, this is Texas, where football is so extremely important to everybody that even the small town teams usually show pretty good fundamentals etc... even if they don't show the size that the larger 4-A and 5-A schools show.

Devon is one of the few kids where you just realized that it doesn't matter what the competition is. He's just off-the-charts good.

I am not so sure that he isn't the best player in America, despite what Rivals says.
