Here's the situation:
I need to take some close up pictures of items. The items will be about 3 feet from the camera. The camera can be mounted on a tripod but I would prefer to mount it on some type of device that I can fasten to a board. What I need to do is be able to move the camera a few millimeters in the forward to back and right to left planes. Although not as essential, I also need to be able to move the camera up and down a few millimeters as well. I know an expensive tripod can do this, but for reasons to complicated to explain, I'd rather be able to use a device that I can affix to a board. Ideally, the device would be a platform that the camera attaches to, and has fine adjustment knobs that would move the camera in the specified directions in very small precise increments. I found a device called a Velbon Macroslider which will do the right-left and front-back planes, but not the elevation. I'll probably end up buying this but I curious if anyone can think of a different item or solution.
Thanks.
