Depressing

KPRC in Houston had a one hour special tonight naming all the highest ranked players in the greater Houston area.

All the top ranked guys are headed to aTm. Looks like we are screwed. I still am glad we did not go to the SEC.

Meh. Charlie just got here. The season hasn't started. Lots of good hs players in Texas besides in Hou.

Give it time. It'll be fine.

aggy will always be aggy. Averaging a 4th place finish in their division will take the luster off in a hurry.

You are delusional if you don't see the talent they are stockpiling. They are on track to have another top 5 class this year.

Rating players based on high school football, now that's depressing. Four years of collage football will weed out these overly hyped players. Just like the NFL weeds out the draft picks.

Houston puts out as many NFL players as anywhere in the nation. There was a graphic a few years back that showed where players came from and Houston was right up with Miami at the top of the list.

Texas needs the best players from Houston and DFW if we are going to be back in the top 5 every year.

It ain't over til the fat lady sings. Since we're non-gender specific these days... make that "it ain't over till the fat person sings" Since we can't be disparaging of others make that "It ain't over till the powerfully built person sings."

Anyway, not worried. OU used to get a haul of top players, too. Baylor and OU will get some as well. And there's no guarantee which of the players will stay eligible. There is more swagger there to swing with than ever here at Entitlement U. That honor now going to Collie Station.

Take a deep breath. Look, aggy is now an SEC team that sports a 2nd tier record. Last year, they were an 8 win team (losses to the usual suspects: Bama, LSU, Auburn, and Missouri) that, with Johnny Cleveland, rallied to beat the mighty, mighty Duke Blue Devils in the Fried Chicken Bowl. If some four and five star recruits want to play for Sumlin, so what? It is IRRELEVANT to us.

In the Big XII, Rivals currently ranks OU first, Texas is second and within striking distance, Baylor and Okie Lite are a virtual distant third. Nationally, Rivals currently ranks OU 15th, Texas 20th, and Baylor (last year's champ) 35th. In recruiting, Charlie Strong is competing quite well on the trail. When he coaches up the recruits he brings in, Texas will again be an extremely competitive . We need to aggressively compete in the Big XII to put ourselves in a position to WIN the conference title and get into the playoff.

Let me say it plainly: head to head recruiting comparisons between us and aggy are largely irrelevant.

Some services list UT #1 ahead of OU. If Texas gets 2 or 3 LBS and a couple od DBS they have offered they will pass A&M also.
