Not to get off the topic of March Madness, but the Nuggets just put up 84 on the Sonics in the 1st half. How does that happen? They are only shooting 57%, but put up 54 shots. The Sonics have put up 58 shots and scored 58 points.
The Sonics are to be commended for holding the Nuggets to only 36 in the second quarter.
BTW, for those of you counting to the end of season and ping pong ball allotments, the Sonics have only 3 games left against teams that aren't in playoff contention. Memphis and Minnesota each have about 8, including 3 with each other. I strongly suspect the Sonics will have the second best chance to get pick number one.
Denver outscored the total of two teams today--Miami and New Orleans combined for 157.
At the 6:24 mark of the third quarter, Denver had already outscored every team that lost today (except Seattle). At the 4:05 mark of the third quarter, they had already outscored all the other winning teams. At the 2:46 mark of the third quarter, they had finally gotten over Seattle's final total.
Take away Denver's 16 3-pointers and they still would have outscored everyone.
