Because of a series of changes (geography, employer, etc.) I no longer have dental insurance, which I just realized last week. I have what I believe is an impacted wisdom tooth (it seems to be coming in at an angle and pushing the other teeth into each other) that needs to come out.
I'm adding dental onto my plan, but there's going to be a waiting period and this ************ hurts to the point where I'm pretty sure my jaw is telling me that something should be done sooner rather than later.
How much do typical dental procedures cost? My secretary says $150+ per tooth for simple pullings and $400+ per tooth for surgical pullings (which an impacted wisdom tooth would probably be). If that's the case, I'm not too concerned, but 4x or 5x that amount and I need to start thinking about whether I can hold out for the waiting period or if I want to dive into savings. Does anyone know how much these types of procedures typically cost in the Austin area?
