This scares Texas Democrats. To me, it's a golden opportunity to pick up a Senate seat in one of the least likely states. Yes, she's a wingnut, as are all Lyndon LaRouche disciples, but this is a weird situation.
Here's the scenario. Assume John Cornyn wins the GOP primary. We know a substantial part of the GOP base is furious at him, because they consider him too accommodating of the White House, meaning he's not like Ted Cruz. They'd love to vote against Cornyn.
Kesha Rogers is calling for Obama's impeachment, so she's more hostile to the Administration than the GOP is. Would a lot of Republicans vote for her just to spite Cornyn and voice their hostility to Obama? No, but would some? Yes. In fact, I know some who would. However, she's also liberal, so at least on issues, the Democratic base shouldn't have a big problem with her. Furthermore, she would caucus with the Democrats, which would mitigate the probable losses Democrats are likely to face in other races.
If you're a Democrat, would it suck and be embarrassing to have a Senator who would vote to remove your own president? Sure, but is the GOP going to pick up the 21 seats it would need to convict Obama and therefore make Rogers' position relevant? No chance in hell.
Since she's never going to get to vote to convict Obama, who cares what her position is? Furthermore, what do you lose by giving her a shot? You could nominate David Alameer (a Farouk Shami starter-kit with a weird name and basically similar to the other Democratic Senate candidates who have gotten their faces urinated on in every election since 1988) and let him barely break 40 percent of the vote, or you could throw a Hail Mary with someone who would disrupt the normal political order and see what happens.
