Democrat Debate

Why no debate?

Is President Biden afraid or incapable of a debate? I personally feel that RFK, Jr, Marianne Williamson, Cornell West, et al would clean his clock.

Thoughts?

To be fair, I've never heard of an incumbent president debating a primary opponent. Did Bush debate Buchanan in '92? I was only 16 at the time, but I don't remember anything like that. Did Jimmy Carter debate Red Kennedy in 1980? I was only 4 at the time, so I don't remember. (However, by then I had already made my opinion of the UN known by taking a dump on the floor in the lobby of the UN building 2 years earlier.)

It has happened.

Could Trump Lose the Republican Nomination? Here's the History of Primary Challenges to Incumbent Presidents

Did not know about this one:
Truman v Kefavuer

I do remember this one:
Ford v Reagan

He could lose it. It's still very early in the process. What makes it difficult is that Trump has a large base of voters that is totally unreachable. They don't care if he sells out on abortion or gender ideology or goes to prison. He's their guy. Hard to work with that.

I have to agree with Deez on this. My question is why Biden will not debate within his own party,

As I showed above, it is rare, but has happened if the challenger has a strong following and the incumbent is weak. Get pushed and you have to push back.

I'm not saying it's out of the question. It has happened a few times in 240+ years of presidential elections, but it's unusual.

Full disclosure. They're doing an Oktoberfest theme at my local pub, so I'm kickin' it at the pub since I love and miss German beer. I'm not drunk, but I am feeling beautiful. Very capable of political commentary.

After my concussion, no alcohol for me. I have trouble sleeping after 1 - 2 beers. I am jealous of you though. Have a good time.

Understand. I don't usually drink this heavily, but I just love German beer. I lived in Germany for 7 years, and I really miss it after 3 years in the UK. Since we're in Oktoberfest season, my local pub has an awesome selection of German beers. I can't resist. Lol.

I like English ales. They're good, but Bavarian lagers will always please me most.

Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest seasonal is very good in my opinion.

I've never had it, but I'm not surprised. I'll bet it is good. Their ales are good.

When I hear Brits (and previously Germans) crap on American beer, I do defend the small breweries like Sierra Nevada. Plenty of American breweries make good beer, but the big breweries that export do not.

If you haven't tried Austin Beerworks, I strongly encourage it. Gotta give full disclosure, I do know one of the owner's wives - longtime friend of mine. However, their products are excellent. If you respect good beer, you'll like it.

While you are in the UK, try Tennants Lager. It's Scottish, as am I, and hard to find in the US. I don't have many laments in my life but giving up this one is definitely one.

I have to admit that it took me awhile to get down my last beer. As Toby Keith said, "I ain't as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was."

A good Munich beer.

The Germans tried to pitch this brew in America, but they were about a decade too early.

A lot of Independents and Democrats are worried that Biden is senile. His campaign has to do something to pull the wool over their eyes if he wants to stay in the game.

I remember seeing ads for it in the early '80s. It was actually licenced to Miller, who watered it down - meant to compete with Michelob. They stopped in the mid-'80s. Then in the late '90s, I remember seeing Lowenbrau again, but it was marketed as being the original recipe.

I drank it when it was available in the US. I was probably one of few that liked it at the time. However, for a mass market German beer I like Paulaner and Erdinger better. Or course there are many specialty German beers that are superior.

Back in the day, I enjoyed Lowenbrau. However, this forum is on the Democrat debate. If it happens.

Wait a second, alcohol dulls the senses and makes Dims more attractive to voters.

Carry on.

Guy, good point. This was meant as a Dim debate forum but took a beer turn. I want it to go back to a potential debate question. Potential as in, will Joe Biden have a debate?

Hopefully I can do a course correction.

I want Trump to show up for the November Republican debate. We need to see all of the candidates.
