The first thing you need to know is that he is from Ohio. He is. He moved to Texas while in junior high. The second thing you need to know is that Knox is going to Columbus on the weekend of April 19-21 to see some family, and while he is up there he will check out Ohio State. When he was asked about if Mack Brown was OK with the trip, he responded: "Hopefully haha...But we have an understanding."

Here's an update on his Ohio State visit from 24/7:

“All it really boils down to is that I am going up to visit my father in Ohio who I haven’t seen in years,” said Knox. “He is a huge Ohio State fan and wants to see the university. I have a chance to spend the day out with my dad at a place we both admire.”

“You know, it’s funny. I’ve already told the Ohio State coaches that I’m not going there and they’re okay with it. I say that I’m going to spend the day with my dad, who wants to visit OSU, and plenty of Texas fans want to hate on me about it,” Knox said.

“It’s simple really,” he explained. “If I wanted to be a Buckeye and I thought that Ohio State was the best place for me, then I could drop everything right now and commit there. That’s not the case though. I picked Texas for a reason."

“I know Texas is the place for me and that is why I committed,” Knox added. “If I wanted to take real visits, I would. It’s just spring break and I’m at home. I’m going to see family. I am 100-percent Texas.”

“We have an understanding,” Knox told Hookem.com. “They know all about it. If Mack Brown and Coach (Stacy) Searels have no problem with it and still show me love, why should anyone else trip about it? Everything is cool.”

Well, maybe it is. I certainly hope so! I also hope that Mack and coach Searels keep on showing the love!
 
So basically, Gresham knows that if he goes to check out other offers, Mack will pull his 'ship. So we'll know it's over if/when he takes those visits.
 
These are just kids.... not even 18 in most cases. Its expected for them to get loved by other programs and be told everything they want to hear. Recruiting is a tough but the game has changed with social media. I am sure these kids can read and react to the negative posts in many ways. After all, a fan base can uprise and be pretty evil. Anyone remember the Booo's for Gilbert?

I sure hope he is a man of his word. We can definitely use an OL with his talent and ability.
 
I just read this on another site:

HornsNation had a great update on Daniel Gresham. He is done doing interviews for a while. The coaches has said that he has not lost his offer, but that they were 'disappointed'. He refused to say what they (he and the staff) discussed. He is done taking visits and wants to 'law low' so he doesn't cause any further problems. He stills says he is a strong commitment. Finally, him and Knox will be in Austin for the Spring Game.

I am assuming this applies to Knox as well but I haven't read anything to that effect. Maybe, just maybe, these guys really want to be Horns. I hope so!
 
I am a fan, not a coach nor recruiter, but I feel the 5 star athlete is a crap shoot anyway. Just as the 4-3 stars are.
If I can relate this to business, I would rather have a 3 star high school athlete with potential who has a passion for playing at UT than ac5 star who plays the hat game in February.
My post has nothing to do with the two kids mentioned here, I am speaking in general terms. I know nothing about this situation.......not saying this applies to them.
Let some other team get the drama queens, ill take the kid with heart every time.
