Dell notebook error #M1004

So here's the low down. I have a Dell Inspiron 4150 with a 1.8/1.2GHz speedstep CPU, 256MB RAM running XP Home. I'm usually too impatient to wait, and just suspend the computer before I stick it in my bag.

Yesterday morning, I turned on the computer, apparently I had done a complete shut down on Friday. A warning came up telling me to contact Dell Support w/ error code #M1004.

Right now the computer is running SLOOOOOOWWWWWW. According to the system tool, I'm running at a whopping 789MHz. Plus my fan has been running non-stop.

Any hardware people out there that can help me out? I'd appreciate it, thanks.

Called Dell support. I must've gotten routed to India. The guy's accent was understandable, but he mumbled everything making it difficult to understand. But he walked me through. Got the BIOS updated from A04 to A06. Somehow the CPU overheated during the entire process and shut down, but now it's running fine again... thanks for the response.
