Dell Memory Question

I bought a stick of 128MB at CompUSA Friday for a Dell 4100. Won't fit. Slot's not deep enough about 1/4-inch to where the clips won't quite close to lock in the stick. Talking to the CompUSA people they said Dell has propretary dibs on some of it's memory sticks, I suppose for certain models of its PCs. Anyone had this issue before?

A medium-sized sledgehammer should help with those grooves.

If you have a 4100, it looks like what you need is called PC133 SDRAM.

If you want memory for a Dell, stick to either Dell or Crucial.com for your upgrades. Crucial is a good deal cheaper and offers free 2nd day shipping, so that's what I would go with if I were you.
