Dell Home System Service Agreement MS Office

I just got a new dell laptop and am trying to put office pro 2003. for some reason, when i put in the cd, it says that "Dell Home Systems Services Agreement is already installed on this computer" and that apparently it and office cannot coexist. it tells me i have to uninstall the Dell HSSA in order to install office...

What the hell is the HSSA and will I be voiding my warranty if I put office on here? I am telling myself that that would be completely absurd, but I can't find anything on google or my computer about what the hell the HSSA is.

Thanks in advance.

See if there is a trial version of office or something on the computer or maybe a link to purchase it. Or run Word Perfect since that was probably already on it and see if a license agreement comes up. That doesn't make sense to me that it wouldn't install. Normally a setup will still run, but just ask you if you want to update the program, uninstall it, etc.
As far as warranty, that won't matter. Warranties normally only cover hardware. It is expected that the user is going to install additional software and assumed that 40% of computer users are going to find a way to screw up their system by getting some spyware or virus in the first year.
I just bought a new desktop and laptop and didn't have that problem with mine, but I did have to agree to different end user agreements from Dell when the computer first booted. You may want to see if there are any links in the start menu or maybe even run the recovery CD program if you haven't yet. There may be something with it keeping you from installing anything until you create your system recovery disk (assuming your new Dell didn't come with an operating system CD).
