I did a search ... probably am insufficient (like our defense)

This was called a couple of times yesterday, again against OkSt last week.

what in the wide world of sports is defensive holding on a RUN play?

Thanks (too many rule changes, hashtagnotthesamegame!)

The only time I had ever seen that called before was in 2015 when we played Oklahoma State and T. Boone Pickins was allowed to make the calls himself. Now I've seen it called twice in the same game.

It happens on occasion. Usually it's a defensive lineman grabbing hold of a OL to keep the OL from getting to the second level(the linebackers) or a DL grabs the OL to allow the LB to get passed the OL.

in real football ... the only way the defense can be called for holding is on a pass defender impeding the receiver's route before the ball is thrown.

No such thing as defensive holding on a run play ... in real football.

how many advantages can we give the offense???

fair catch on a kickoff!? Good grief. shouldn't be any fair catching.

If we allow DL to do it then every play in football would be all the defensive lineman grabbing hold of an OL while LB blitzed right by them. It'd be pressure and penetration on nearly every single play. It'd create a boring game dominated by the defense.

I like defense.
this mamby pamby make it easy for the offense is horse puckey.

man up and play football ... or take the pads off and don a little girly flag.

That was one of the worst officiated games I have seen. The Oklahoma State game a couple of years ago was much worse. Honestly, the Horns got more to go their way than WVU. They should not of been penalized for the Horns down and their left tackle did not deserve to be ejected.

Evidently there is a new rule that says a punch and you are right. In the ou Tech game an ou guard hit a Tech guy after the play and the talking heads said if it was a punch the guy was gone. The refs came back and said no punch.
