Was that not a great series of defensive plays. This defense is on fire.

12 plays inside the 5.

not only was that great defensive play but it showed great resiliancy staying with it after 2 def pass interference calls in the endzone. BOOM MF is right.

Great stand by the defense. By the way, all the neverweres and wannabes in the chat room are still claiming we will lose 5 or 6 games because of our D.

The defense was awesome - absolutely spectacular....BUT who are these officials? We had the stop at 5:28 to go in the half, and a Rice lineman tackled our pass rusher, but we were flagged. Then, unless I missed the trajectory, the first pass interference call occurred after the ball had been deflected at the line. Doesn't that mean the receiver is fair game? To top it off, the jerk threw another flag resulting in a second pass interference call. What interference? Maybe he was breathing too loudly. Are these guys senile? Just the one fellow? He didn't appear competent enough to officiate a good game of tidley winks
Way to go DEFENSE!

Hook 'em!

Some weird play-calling by Rice, but the D really stood up and did well. The first pass interference was flat-out a freshman mistake, but the second was a little shaky.

Front four's played well tonight, and the secondary has actually had some flashes.

That defensive stand was awesome.

Still, we will have no idea how good this defense really is until October.

Second pass interference call was horrid.

That said, I'm glad it was called, because an 11-snap goal-line stand is a beautiful thing, no matter the opponent.

Was it 12 plays? I counted 9 but it was impressive.

1st-4th downs. PI on 4th. PI again on the resulting 1st down. 1st-4th downs again.

Aww, who cares... it was badass!

All I know is my throat is sore from yelling "D" and "Hold 'em" amongst other things! The D did a damn good job tonight holding them to 10 points. I'm curious as to what they will do against OU. I like what I see so far. Boom Mo Fo!!!!!

after the 4th down was over and Texas got the ball back, the stadium announcer said, "That was 12 plays in case you were counting"

The D looked solid during certain stretches...and performed very well on the 3rd downs.

But Rice had over 300 yards passing...

I couldn't believe how well our defense held up in that stand inside the 5. Especially with those interference calls doing us no favors.

It's funny to me that after three weeks of giving up no more than 1 TD per game that people still like to point out the yards given up. I mean I understand that eventually giving up a ton of yards could lead to giving up a lot of points, but as of right now at least admit that the D is working, and that at the end of the day the number that matters is points scored...

A few days ago, I was reading a story about Coach Royal. Don't have a link. He was commenting on the 1968 team. He said that the team needed a goal line stand or a come from behind victory in order to jell.Hopefully, the same can be said about this team. I suspect that Coach Muchamp is pleased about that goal stand (and displeased about some other things.) What I noticed was a real fire. That has to be good.

On TV, they recounted a funny Muschamp story from the master himself. He was a coach at Valdosta State and after the game, someone came up to him and said that it didn't look like his players had played very hard. That "someone" was his mother, and from then on Will decided his guys would always play with intensity. Those "before vs. after" stories are the best.

This defensive stand was good. Rice blew a TD that they dropped but you gotta love the fight the Texas D had in them.

And that wasn't the only series the defense looked good in. A couple of times they gave up a ton of yards but tightened up and got the job done in the redzone. That is what you want out of a defense....prevent scoring.

That was a WOW last night. I have never seen a stand like that - 11 plays iniside the 10 = 0 points. It was Rice, but still very impressive. This is something the D and Mus-CAMP can build on.

That was great to watch. The old-fashioned goal line stand. Really, three goal line stands in one possession, to make it more exciting. I know this was Rice, but they did have a sharp qb and couple of good receivers, and no matter the opponent, a goal line stand is impressive.
