Maybe this has been covered in other threads but I was so impressed with the D on Saturday. I thought they played physical, intelligent football.
The way Barron came off his man to step in front of the receiver on the first interception was pure Earl Thomas. That was good coaching, preparation along with excellent player awareness. It was almost like the Defense baited Milroe into making that throw.
Sweat looks like Casey Hampton out there clogging up the middle and taking on a double team so others can make the play.
Watts looks like Chykie Brown with his long, athletic build.
Anthony Hill? Reminds me of Sergio Kindle the way he gets after the QB. Not exactly the same position but disrupting the passing game and using his speed the same way Kindle did.
I admit I wasn’t sure Coach K was the right guy but this defense looks fast, athletic and experienced. Maybe it’s the continuity of being in the same system for a 3rd year along with an upgrade in overall talent. Whatever it is, it’s working so far. I hope we can keep it up the rest of the season.
